Van Eyck Fine Jewellery to debut globally in May

The Hong Kong-based brand Van Eyck Fine Jewelry will make its debut launch with its Birds of Paradise collection in May 2014, delivering the exquisite works of art set with fine diamonds.

According to its press release, the brand is named after the renowned Flemish painter Van Eyck, one of the most important artists of the 15th century and a pioneer in painting jewellery and precious stones. Founder Alon Garty said: “The innovative approach of the painter Van Eyck inspired us to create a brand that is different in every aspect and so we use the quote ‘Als lk Kan’, or ‘As I can’ in English, as tribute to him and to remind us that our goal is to offer the best to our customers.”

The inaugural collection, Birds of Paradise, consists of 25 rings inspired by animals native to Papua New Guinea. The brand chooses the finest natural fancy coloured diamonds for all of its rings. A delicate pink sapphire is set on the inside of each piece, as a hallmark intended to be only seen by the ring’s owner. According to Van Eyck, the collection is in limited edition with only 10 of each ring design will be made. Buyers will also receive the original sketches by the designer, along with the information about the bird that inspired the jewellery.

Alon Garty said: “I found that today luxury consumers are looking for quality craftsmanship, identity and a story to tell and I believe Van Eyck represents all of these qualities. We want our customers to feel like they are buying a piece of art with a unique story behind it, not just another piece of jewellery.”

Starting from May 2014, Van Eyck Fine Jewelry’s collections will be available at its private showroom in Hong Kong, a venue for its selected clients spending time with its artisans and collections in comforts and privacy.
