At the invitation of Shi Kong Place Chongqing, ‘Bejewelled Treasures : Exhibition by Lin Shiao Tung’ will be held from 9 August 2017 to 31 December 2017 to showcases works of the Taiwanese jewellery designer.
The exhibition is designed as an installation of micro sculptures in the space. With the aid of groundbreaking techniques, the artist’s ideas transform spatial forms and lines into jewellery shining on the flesh. The revolutionary act of presenting gemstones in three dimensions, under the artist Lin’s persistence, reveals the most brilliant colours and textures of the couture jewellery. At the exhibition, the jewellery will be magnified in order to present the balance of personality and beauty.
At the entrance of the exhibition, thousands of hand sketches by the artist are assembled into an impressive art installation. The designer’s signature collection Shiao is also displayed there. The main hall features the three most iconic collections: Artistic Abstraction, My Jade and Contemporary Design. The highlight of the entire exhibition is The Camellia. Inspired by the emblem of Chongqing, it is a pioneering creation of the local symbol
The layered design and the versatility in combination represent strength and ideal love as well as the unique connections between people. The artwork radiates the ultimate beauty of human nature and a belief in excellence. Moreover, original hand scripts, historical papers and documentation about the artworks included in the exhibition provide a valuable opportunity to enter the emotionally abundant world of Lin.
