Hong Kong based Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group Limited launched its new diamond brand CHOW TAI FOOK T MARK. According to the group, this initiative revolutionises the century-old diamond authentication with the pioneering 4Ts concept. Each CHOW TAI FOOK T MARK diamond is inscribed with a “T MARK” making by patented technology. The marking, essentially a set of unique serial numbers, traces the journey of each stone from sourcing to production.
The groups said, while the international 4Cs standard (colour, clarity, cut and carat) measure the superficial beauty of a diamond, the 4Ts concept reveals its mesmerising inner beauty. The revolutionary 4Ts concept (traceable, transparent, truthful and thoughtful) traces the extraordinary life journey and origin of a diamond, from sourcing to production, and tell the inspiring story behind each scintillating stone.
Using its self-developed, patented nano-inscription technology, Chow Tai Fook places a set of very tiny serial numbers with “T” mark ever on each stone to ensure its uniqueness. From the moment it is sourced, each T MARK diamond is inscribed with a traceable code that records the important details, such as the cutting, polishing, marking, authentication and setting processes. The marking is just 5nm in thickness, equivalent to 1/20,000 of the thickness of fingerprint, and can only be seen with a special 150X microscope, which also won the Red Dot Design Award in Germany. Besides, all T MARK diamonds are conflict free and fully comply with the Kimberley Process to prevent conflict diamonds, illegal exploitation and unfair trade.
The “CHOW TAI FOOK T MARK · To Tell The Truth Journey” exhibition will be held from 10-16 August 2017 at Ocean Terminal Main Concourse, Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui. Visitors can experience the journey of T MARK diamonds through interactive digital technologies. The “Projection Zone” will explain the 4Ts concept with a giant hologram, while the “Interactive Diamond Production Experience Zone” will allow visitors to explore the production of T MARK diamonds, from sourcing, cutting, polishing to setting, via smartphones and digital devices, and create their own T MARK diamonds for their loved ones. The “CHOW TAI FOOK T MARK Diamond Marking Viewing Zone” will invite visitors to examine the smallest marking under the special 150X microscope. Finally, the “VR Experience Zone” will offer visitors an in-depth understanding of the diamond production process with the help of virtual reality technology. Upon completing the journey, visitors will also receive a limited-edition CHOW TAI FOOK T MARK souvenir.
