The Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, San Francisco, has recently announced the winners of the 2017 Tahitian Pearl Contest.
Jenny Reeves won the grand prize in the instructor category for her Sun and Sea pendant (photo 1) made in Argentium sterling silver and gold with Tahitian pearl, watermelon tourmaline and diamond.
In the student category, William Roberston was the grand prize winner whose necklace (photo 2) features a 13mm gray semi-baroque Tahitian pearl, akoya pearl, diamonds and Paraiba tourmalines.
The grand prize winners received two round trip tickets to Tahiti and cash prizes from sponsors Black Mart Pearls and Air Tahiti Nui.
The winning designs will be on view at Sofia Gallery in Mill Valley, California from 30 October through 5 November 2017.
The contest, in its second edition this year, was open to all present and past students of the Revere Academy and to past and present instructors in order to stimulate and encourage creativity.
