Lukfook Jewellery recorded a 17-percent increase of same-store sales in the second fiscal quarter of 2017 (2QFY2017) ended 30 September 2017, powered by its strong performance in mainland China and Hong Kong and Macau where same-store sales were up 11 percent and 18 percent respectively, said the company.
Gold jewellery same-store sales in mainland China jumped 19 percent, while gem-set jewellery dipped two percent. In Hong Kong and Macau, gold jewellery sales grew 21 percent, and gem-set jewellery sales rose 18 percent.
Lukfook marked an initial turnaround in 4QFY2016 ended March 31 2017, when the company recorded its first quarterly same-store growth in three years. The improvement has influenced the company to revive its store expansion programme.
As at 30 September 2017, Lukfook had 216 self-operated shops, including 151 in the Mainland, 45 in Hong Kong, 10 in Macau and 10 overseas. Including licensed outlets, its global store count numbered 1,542.
