Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) president Yoram Dvash was re-elected earlier this week for a second term of three years at a general assembly of bourse members, the bourse said on Thursday.
IDE also held elections on Wednesday for its board of directors and members of the control committee. Sixteen new board members were elected to the directorate.
According to the bourse, during the past two years as IDE president, Dvash actively introduced innovations into the diamond exchange, negotiating a new agreement with the tax authority, instituting its first ethical code and strengthening its arbitration system. Dvash established IDE’s International Tender Center, an e-commerce wing in the bourse, promoted the establishment of two new polishing centers for large diamonds on exchange premises and inaugurated IDE’s Innovation Center to host startups in the diamond industry.
In a post on his Facebook page, Yoram Dvash said: “The elections are behind us and it’s time to get back to work. In the next few days we will meet to plan our activities, fill positions and work diligently to promote our industry.”
