Started 24 November 2017, the 4th Jewelry Cultural Festival is drawing to a close today at the Panyu Museum, China.
Themed “global jewellery made in Panyu”, the festival incorporates a wide array of events including jewellery sales, seminars, cultural performances and free jewellery testing services. According to organiser Guangzhou Panyu Jewelry Manufacturers Association, the festival features seven highlights, namely:
1. Panyu-Shunde jewellery industry strategic alliance
2. Evolution of Daluotang Jewelry Town
3. 2017 Guangdong-Shanghai-Hong Kong-Macau ‘Belt and Road’ jewellery design exhibition
4. Inauguration of the Guangdong Gems & Jade Exchange Sharing Innovation Centre
5. Ten halls of fine exhibits
6. Inauguration of 2017 Guangzhou Jewellery & Diamond International Annual Meeting
7. Fine jewellery & diamond exhibition
Panyu has evolved to be a manufacturing hub for the global gem and jewellery industry over the last 30 years. In 2016, the total value of jewellery exports from Panyu was 27.18 billion yuan, said festival organiser. With the inauguration of Daluotang Jewelry Town and Shawan Guibao Town, and the establishment of the Guangdong Gems & Jade Exchange and Guangzhou Dianmond Exchange, it is believed that the Panyu jewellery industry will reach a greater height.
