The World Jewelry Design Awards 2018 organised by the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization), GIT, is inviting entries till 28 May.
In its 12th edition, the annual international jewellery design competition is held under the theme of ‘The Pearl of Wisdom – Illumination from under the Surface’. Contestants should use pearls or mother-of-pearls as the centerpiece of the jewellery design which must be able to be manufacture and sold, said Duangkamol Jiambutr, director of GIT.
Awards are divided into two categories: the award from the decision of judges and the Popular Design Award 2018 that is open for the public to vote online from the 20 top designs.
Winners will be announced on 10 September during the 62nd Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair where winning designs will be on display. According to GIT, winners will receive a trophy and a total of US$9,000 cash prize.
