A total of 38 Israeli diamond companies will be exhibited at the national pavilion organised by the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) during the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair held 21-24 June 2018. Three new exhibitors are recruited, says IDI.
Located in the diamond area in Hall 3B and C, the Israeli pavilion includes a lounge with refreshments and ‘Get Diamonds Show’ terminals which enable buyers to search a database of all goods offered by the Israeli exhibitors at the show.
Five other Israeli companies will exhibit in other locations of the show.
A special website for the June fair with details of all show-participating Israeli companies will go live a day ahead of the show.
According to IDI, Asia is the country’s second largest market for polished diamonds representing about 30 percent of total polished diamond exports, with the greatest share going to Hong Kong. Israel is also a major supplier of polished diamonds to China, India, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan and other Asian markets.
IDI chairman Boaz Moldawsky said: “Asia is a key target market for our industry. We are optimistic about Asia and we are seeing a definite rise in demand for diamond jewellery in these markets, especially in China. The long-term prospects for Asia as a market for polished diamonds from Israel are encouraging and we are committed to this market now and in the future." (Photo courtesy: IDI)
