Sylvie Ritter has resigned after 15 years as the managing director of Baselworld. “She has shaped and directed Baselworld with great passion and professionalism,” said MCH Group CEO René Kamm.
Michel Loris-Melikoff (photo), who has been the director of MCH Beaulieu Lausanne, an MCH-owned exhibition centre in Lausanne, Switzerland, will take over from Ritter on 1 July. He has been engaged in the trade show and events industry for 20 years.
“We will be expanding the Baselworld team and further developing the event to continue along the path of quality enhancement and to meet the challenges of the future”, said Michel Loris-Melikoff. “We are tackling this task with a large number of new ideas and with valuable inputs from exhibitors, visitors and the media.” Improvements in catering, hospitality and events management, the major complaints at Baselworld this year are also on his improvement list. Baselworld Daily News with a brand new concept will be back in printed form in 2019.
