22-06-2018 The Asia Fancy Color Diamond Association (AFCDIA), Hong Kong-based trade promotion organization for the fancy-coloured diamond industry in Asia organised a networking breakfast meeting with its members and practitioners this morning during the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair.
Lily Leung, founding chairman of AFCDIA shared some key 2018 updates of the association at the event. According to her, AFCDIA will upgrade its website to embrace both B2B and B2C e-commerce to facilitate members’ online sales. With its new functions like members’ blog and calendar, members will be able to share their updates more efficiently with consumers through this platform.
As a relatively new trade association, AFCDIA will also largely increase its exposure throughout the industry by organising networking events, conference and charity auction dinner, and building potential partnerships and collaborations with luxury brands in Asia with main focus on Hong Kong and mainland China markets.
“AFCDIA is about sharing ideas on how to expand the fancy-coloured diamond market size, and promoting the development of this market.There are many challenges faced by the fancy-coloured market nowadays. De Beers’ recent announcement on selling coloured CVD diamonds at US$800/ carat up is an example. Things are changing. We are living in the interesting era,” said Leung.
At the event, practitioners discussed some of the main issues of the fancy-coloured diamond industry and shared their perspectives on how to develop fancy-coloured diamond market.
