Alrosa has summed up the auction sales result of rough diamonds weighing over 10.8 carats each. 100 diamonds weighed 1,550 carats were sold at US$10.4 million. Bidders from Hong Kong, Belgium, Israel, India, the UAE and Russia attended the auction and 28 firms were the winners of the lots.
“We successfully held this year’s second auction in Hong Kong, which is one of the key regions in our business,” Evgeny Agureev, director of the United Selling Organization (USO) said. The miner plans to hold another auction running alongside the coming September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair.
Alrosa sold 101 rough diamonds weighing over 10.8 carats with a total weight of 1751.1 carats for $14.8 million at the Vladivostok auction in April.
