Two jewellers, Vishal Agarwal and Khushbu Agarwal from Surat in India have broken the Guinness World Record for most diamonds set in one ring. The lotus flower shaped ring contains 6,690 diamonds mounted on an 18 karat rose gold structure with 48 diamond encrusted petals, weighs over 58 grams and costs US$4,116,787.
It took the jewellers six months to design and craft. According to Guinness World Records, they hope to raise awareness about the importance of water conservation with lotus as it is ‘the beauty growing in the water’ as well as the national flower of India. “As fame is so much attached to a Guinness World Records title, we can put it to good use by bringing together like-minded people to work towards a beautiful world,” Vishal and Khushbu said.
