New Italian-Dubai show be launched in 2015

A joint venture between Fiera di Vicenza (FdV) and the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) was formed to organize a new jewellery fair in Dubai starting April 2015, announced FdV at a press conference during Vicenzaoro Spring on 12 May 2014.

FdV president Matteo Marzotto, FdV managing director Corrado Facco, director general of Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing and DWTC CEO his excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, and DWTC senior vice president of exhibition and event management Trixie LohMirmand have attended the signing ceremony.

The Dubai-based new venture, DV Global Link, will deliver the first show from 23 to 26 April 2015 at DWTC. The goal of the two companies is to jointly organize a super show dedicated to jewellery, filling a void in this sector in a region accessible by two thirds of the world’s inhabitants in 6 hours by plane, according to an FdV statement.

The agreement between FdV and DWTC is placed in a macroeconomic environment, said FdV. Italy is seen as one of the most important manufacturing districts of luxury in the world, home for the internationally renowned beautiful and well-done, while the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a country with high potential in luxury consumption, said the statement.

In 2013, UAE have become the first destination for Italian jewellery exports with a share of 20.7 percent, an increase of 30 percent over 2012.
