The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has graded a 5.01 carats lab-grown diamond (photo 1) grown by Unique Lab Grown Diamond, which the New York-based producer claims it is the largest pink synthetic diamond in the world. The radiant shaped synthetic stone was created by chemical vapour deposition (CVD).
“Color was distributed evenly throughout and diamond is creating similar effect as in natural pink diamonds. The combination of size, colour and clarity made this the most remarkable CVD diamond GIA has tested so far” said GIA. Getting diamonds with Intense Pink-Orange colour are extremely rare in larger sizes by mining.
