The third Hong Kong Jewelry Industry Outstanding Achievement Award is open for nomination till 24 August 2018. Organiser Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association (HKJMA) gave a briefing on the award at a press conference held in Hong Kong yesterday. Members of the judging panel were invited to share their thoughts on the quality of being outstanding.
The decennial award aims to honour the industry’s most outstanding and dedicated jewellers who have made extraordinary contribution to the jewellery industry in Hong Kong, setting positive examples for the value, attitude and standards that the industry as a whole aspire to attain, according to HKJMA.
“The Hong Kong Jewelry Industry Outstanding Achievement Award is held at the highest regard in the local jewellery industry. The award aims to recognise individuals with outstanding achievements and extraordinary contribution to the industry, while serving a greater purpose of advocating for sustainability of the industry,” said HKJMA chairman Benny Do at the opening of the press conference.
Kent Wong, chairman of the Hong Kong Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Association (HKJGA), Dr Kevin Lau, president emeritus of the Professional Validation Council of Hog Kong Industries, Dr Roy Chung, chairman of Vocational Training Council, and Lawrence Ma, founding president of the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong (DFHK) shared their insights and criteria of the award. The judging panel is made up of 11 leading figures in town.
HKJMA is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
