A 29.53-carat D colour IF Type IIa diamond will be going up for auction in Hong Kong on 2 December at the jewellery and jadeite autumn sale by Tiancheng International.
Set in a platinum ring flanked by two heart-shaped diamonds and several others on the basket and shank totaling 4.45 carats, the pear-shaped centre stone (photo 1) possesses an astonishing weight, top-grade colour and clarity as well as superb transparency, an estimate of HK$22 million – $32 million (US$2.8 million – $4.1 million).
Rare stones in natural colours, exceptional sizes and high clarity also bring the attraction to the sale.
